The Problem Unveiled

This issue has recently come to light through various posts on Garmin’s support forum, where users express their frustration over workouts not being logged when ended in a specific manner. Users have discovered that workouts initiated via the Cirqa’s dedicated button and concluded in the Garmin Connect app are often disappearing.

As one affected forum member articulated, “If you start an activity with the button, you have to end it with the button.” This confusion stems from the expectation that ending a workout in the Garmin Connect app should automatically log the workout details, regardless of how it was started. Unfortunately, this is not the case, leading to significant user dissatisfaction.

Garmin’s Response

A company representative has acknowledged the issue, suggesting a potential workaround. Users are advised that if an activity is started from the Cirqa, the first prompt in Garmin Connect may show an ‘Activity in Progress’ message with Resume and End options. To properly save the workout, users should select “Resume,” which will lead to the activity recording screen where the session can be stopped and saved. It’s essential to ensure that a sync has completed for the activity to appear in Garmin Connect.

User Frustration

This bug’s perplexing nature has undoubtedly contributed to the frustration within the Garmin community. Many are bewildered by the logical expectation of the app’s functionality clashing with the opposite outcomes they are experiencing. Users feel that a seamless transition between their devices should prioritize data integrity, and losing logged workouts challenges that assumption.

Looking Ahead

Garmin appears to be aware of the implications of this bug on user experience, documenting feedback and engaging with affected users on the forum. However, a definitive timeline for when a fix will be implemented has not yet been announced. Users will need to remember to start and end workouts directly on the Cirqa or utilize the provided workaround until a permanent solution is developed.

Meanwhile, this incident is not isolated. Users of the Garmin Fenix 9 smartwatch have reported compatibility issues with the latest macOS 27 release, affecting the Garmin Express app. Similar to the Cirqa issues, Garmin has responded by confirming they are investigating this matter as well.

For Garmin Cirqa users experiencing disappearing workouts, the workaround may provide a temporary solution, but the wait for a comprehensive fix continues. If you’re keen on following updates or need further information, you can check the original source Here.
