The ongoing CES 2026 has already introduced a variety of interesting wearables. Among these innovations, the new Solos AirGo V2 smart glasses stand out by enhancing a key factor: utility. Designed to minimize the need for frequent smartphone usage, these smart glasses come equipped with a high-resolution camera and multimodal AI that can “see” and “hear” alongside the user.

The most significant hardware upgrade in this second generation is the ultra-slim 16MP camera. This powerful camera, equipped with electronic image stabilization (EIS), can capture photos and Full HD video seamlessly while the wearer is in motion. Previous iterations of smart eyewear faced challenges regarding battery life, particularly during media capture. However, the AirGo V2 has addressed this issue by utilizing a low-power Wi-Fi architecture specifically designed for efficient live video streaming.

Beyond mere photography, the camera serves as the “eyes” for the built-in AI. Through the SolosChat 3.0 platform, the glasses connect to various major AI models, such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and DeepSeek. This connectivity allows users to look at an object, other items in a foreign language, or complex documents and receive translations or explanations in real-time.

Modular Design with Swappable Batteries

Solos retains its signature “SmartHinge” design for these glasses, providing a high degree of customization for owners. Users can swap the front frames to change their style or select frames that make the camera less conspicuous depending on the setting. The temples, or “arms” of the glasses, house the battery and directional speakers. Adding to the convenience, these temples are swappable, allowing users to keep an extra on hand for longer days out.

The company previewed a new 1,100mAh portable charging case at the show, following the same modular philosophy. This case allows users to charge one set of battery temples while wearing another, significantly extending the device’s utility across multiple days. Clearly, battery longevity was a priority in the design of these smart glasses.

Real-World Applications

Solos is positioning the AirGo V2 not just as a consumer gadget but as an essential tool for various professional and accessibility-focused applications. In collaboration with Envision, the glasses offer assistance to the blind and low-vision community by identifying objects and describing scenes through voice. On the professional front, a partnership with Deutsche Telekom explores how these glasses can streamline workflows in secure enterprise environments by enabling hands-free automation of tasks.

The interaction model has evolved to feel more natural compared to earlier versions. Using wake-word activation, the glasses support a back-and-forth dialogue, allowing them to function more like a personal assistant rather than just a computer on the user’s face.

Pricing and Availability

The Solos AirGo V2 starts at a competitive price point of $299. While additional frame styles are sold separately, this base price places the device in direct competition with other mainstream smart glasses. The new portable charging case is expected to be released in the second quarter of 2026. As the market for wearable AI continues to expand, the AirGo V2 aims to win over the public by addressing everyday challenges while enhancing battery life.
