Introducing the Motorola Moto Pad 70 Groove: The Ultimate Entertainment Tablet
Motorola has made headlines once again with the launch of the Moto Pad 70 Groove, following the introduction of the Moto Pad 70 Pro last month. This new tablet is marketed as the “ultimate entertainment tablet designed for consumers who demand immersive entertainment, cinematic sound, premium design, and limitless versatility,” and it certainly has some impressive features that might just live up to that claim.
Stunning Display and Sound System
The centerpiece of the Moto Pad 70 Groove is its expansive 12.1″ LCD display, which boasts a resolution of 2,560×1,600 pixels and a buttery smooth refresh rate of 120Hz. Designed for visual enthusiasts, this screen achieves a peak brightness of 800 nits, covers 98% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, and supports advanced technologies like Dolby Vision and HDR10, ensuring vivid colors and sharp images for gaming and streaming experiences.
The audio experience is equally impressive, featuring a 9-unit JBL Pro Speaker System. This includes four tweeters, three woofers, and two passive radiators, all designed to deliver immersive sound. The tablet supports Dolby Atmos, complete with modes for Dynamic listening, Movies, and Music, making it a versatile device for various entertainment needs. It also has a dedicated Bluetooth Speaker Mode, allowing users to stream music directly from their phones.
Versatile Design Features
In addition to its audio and visual capabilities, the Moto Pad 70 Groove offers practicality with its 360° metal kickstand that enhances usability. Users can position the tablet in various ways—leaning, laying flat, tilting, or hanging—making it suitable for different usage scenarios such as Lean Mode, Theatre Mode, Stand Mode, and Hanging Mode.
For photography enthusiasts, the back houses a 13MP primary camera, while an 8MP sensor is available on the front for selfies and video calls.
Performance and Battery Life
Under the hood, the Moto Pad 70 Groove is powered by the Dimensity 7400 SoC, paired with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage, expandable via microSD by up to 2TB. Running on Android 16 out of the box, it promises future updates up to Android 18, along with four years of security updates.
Despite the Android version being a slight drawback, as Android 17 has already been released, it still presents users with a robust platform. The device is engineered to accommodate a 10,200 mAh battery, which is reportedly capable of supporting up to 15 hours of YouTube streaming on a single charge. A 68W power adapter is included in the package, with support for 45W charging.
Additional Features and Specs
Other notable features of the Moto Pad 70 Groove include dual microphones, an IP52 rating for dust and water resistance, and a USB-C port for charging and data transfer. It’s worth noting that this device does not support LTE, so users must rely on Wi-Fi for internet connectivity.
Constructed with a metal body, the tablet weighs in at 775g and measures 6.8mm thick (22.7mm with the speaker bump). It is available in a stunning Pantone Blue Surf color, making it visually appealing as well.
