Meta Unveils Smart Glasses Collection in Collaboration with Blackpink’s Lisa
Meta has recently taken a bold step in the world of wearable technology by collaborating with K-pop sensation Lisa from the globally popular group Blackpink. This partnership introduces the “Meta Glasses by Lisa” collection, showcasing two unique models that merge fashion & technology. This announcement not only points towards innovation in smart glasses but also brings a fresh aesthetic appeal. Alongside this exciting release, Meta has also rolled out hardware upgrades for its flagship Ray-Ban Meta wearables, enhanced audio-only glasses, and extended availability to international markets.
Distinctive Designs: The Lisa Collection
Priced at $399, the “Meta Glasses by Lisa” line features two distinct styles tailored for diverse tastes. The first model is the rectangular Meta Adventurer Lisa Edition presented in a semi-translucent Moonlit Sky frame paired with Blush lenses. The second design is the stylish cat-eye Meta Capri Lisa Edition, showcased in an elegant Eclipse frame with sophisticated grey lenses. Both variants come complete with star accents on the temple tips, specialized charging cases, and pet-shaped charms. These stylish glasses incorporate crucial features such as standard Meta AI, integrated cameras, audio capabilities, and prescription lens support.
Upgraded Specs for Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3
In addition to the new collaboration, Meta has also rolled out the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 smart glasses, priced at $449. This latest generation offers significant upgrades, including an additional hour of battery life, providing up to 9 hours of continuous use on a single charge. Furthermore, flexible temple tips have been added to provide added comfort for users with wider face shapes.
Improvements have also been made to audio and capture capabilities. The new six-microphone array effectively reduces background noise by up to 90%, enhancing call quality and AI interactions. Although the camera maintains its 12MP sensor, it boasts new software features like Dynamic Photo, which intelligently selects the best image from multiple frames, along with forthcoming support for Dolby Atmos, enabling the recording of immersive 360-degree spatial audio.
A noteworthy addition is an accessibility feature aimed at individuals with mild to moderate hearing loss, available for a yearly fee of $150 or through a Meta One subscription.
Pricing and Global Expansion
Alongside these exciting launches, Meta has introduced several new non-celebrity Ray-Ban styles, including the cat-eye Zena and classic Aviators, as well as a new first-party Nova design mimicking Ray-Ban’s Headliner style. To make these innovations more accessible, Meta has released a black Adventurer frame equipped with a plug-in charging case, retailing at $249, thus lowering the entry price by $50 from the standard base price.
Furthermore, Meta has confirmed that its glasses are now available in multiple international markets, including South Korea, Singapore, Mexico, and the UAE, with plans for a Brazil launch on the horizon.
