This year’s event prominently features artificial intelligence, but the buzz around new laptops powered by cutting-edge hardware from Intel, AMD, and Qualcomm is equally palpable. Nvidia has also made waves with its new RTX Spark chip, heralding laptops equipped with this technology expected to launch later this year.

Interestingly, one of the major influences on this year’s laptop landscape comes from a notable absence: Apple, with its budget-friendly MacBook Neo. Apple’s strategic pricing and performance have forced many Windows laptop manufacturers to step up their game, aiming to offer enticing alternatives for consumers.

Read on to uncover the standout laptops I’ve encountered at Computex 2026. I’ll be reviewing many of these devices in detail when they become available.

Dell XPS 13 (2026)

Dell’s return to the XPS laptop series, just a year after discontinuing it, is met with enthusiasm. The latest Dell XPS 13 model is generating excitement as it aims directly at the MacBook Neo’s market. At a competitive price of $599, this laptop boasts an elegant aluminum design, a vibrant touchscreen, and impressive portability, being both thinner and lighter than the Neo.

Remarkably, Dell displayed the XPS 13 besides one of Apple’s offerings for a direct head-to-head comparison during the event, emphasizing the serious challenge posed to Apple’s budget model. Featuring two USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 4 capability on each side, a backlit keyboard, and a higher portability factor, the XPS 13 seems well-equipped to vie for the top budget laptop spot.

Acer Swift Air 14 (2026)

The Acer Swift Air 14 seeks to challenge the MacBook Neo with a similar price point of $599. This all-metal laptop rivals the premium appearance of much higher-priced devices. It incorporates the latest Intel Core Series 3 processors and is expected to deliver around 19 hours of battery life—roughly on par with the MacBook Neo.

Its 14-inch WUXGA display boasts a 120 Hz refresh rate and 100 percent sRGB color accuracy, indicating it could be a strong competitor in visual performance. Additionally, the display’s capability to lay flat at 180 degrees provides an added level of versatility that the MacBook Neo does not offer.

Acer Aspire Go 15

Acer Aspire Go 15

Pioneering entry-level offerings, the Acer Aspire Go 15 introduces the Snapdragon C chip at a target price around $400. Unlike its predecessors in the budget category, it promises a durable build and effective performance with an 8-core CPU and a 1080p, 15.6-inch display, along with two USB-C ports.

This focus on performance and usability positions the Aspire Go 15 as an accessible choice for users seeking efficiency without compromising quality.

MSI Titan 18 HX at Computex 2026

MSI Titan 18 HX Dragon Edition Draco Epic

Known for their visually striking and powerful gaming laptops, MSI revealed the Titan 18 HX Dragon Edition Draco Epic, an impressive machine adorned with intricate artwork celebrating its iconic mascot, ‘Draco’, derived from a Greek myth. This limited edition comes with a special coin, mousepad, and gaming mouse—a fitting tribute for MSI’s 40th anniversary.

Under the hood, this powerhouse includes an Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus processor and an Nvidia RTX 5090 laptop GPU, complemented by an 18-inch UHD+ MiniLED display with a staggering 240Hz refresh rate, making it a compelling choice for gamers and creators alike.

Microsoft Surface Laptop Ultra

Microsoft Surface Laptop Ultra

Amidst the buzz surrounding Nvidia’s RTX Spark ‘super chip’ announcement, the Microsoft Surface Laptop Ultra stands out. This device, while perhaps not aimed at mainstream buyers, looks to be a flagship showcasing collaboration between Nvidia and Microsoft aimed at transforming the Windows 11 experience.

Demonstrations at Computex highlighted the laptop’s capabilities for AI tasks, 3D rendering, and gaming, giving me an upfront look at its performance. Games like Alan Wake 2 were shown running smoothly, along with emulated titles, hinting at the powerful capabilities powered by Nvidia’s RTX Spark.

However, the premium performance may come at a high price point, requiring a careful consideration for prospective buyers. The anticipation builds as we await further details on RTX Spark laptops later this year.
