Samsung is intensifying its efforts in the wearable technology market with the ongoing testing of One UI 9. The new beta updates have begun rolling out to several Galaxy devices, notably enhancing user experience and functionality. Notably, the Galaxy Watch 8 series is now receiving its third beta update, while the Galaxy Watch 7 is getting its second. It’s crucial to mention that these updates are exclusively available to users enrolled in the One UI 9 beta program.
Several Galaxy Devices Are Receiving New One UI 9 Beta Updates
Beyond smartwatches, Samsung is also rolling out the second One UI 9 beta update for the Galaxy A55 smartphone. This particular beta program launched earlier this month and is currently available in South Korea. The update comes with a substantial download size of 403.66MB, tagged as firmware version A556SKSUBEXI4. As per company reports, this beta aims primarily to enhance camera stability, a significant point for photography enthusiasts. Users can access this update by navigating to Settings > Software update > Check for updates. However, it’s essential to note that those currently on the stable Android 16-based One UI 8.5 will not have access to this beta update.
Available Only to Those Who Are Part of the Beta Program
The Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic models are receiving their third One UI 9 (Wear OS 7) beta update, while the Galaxy Watch 7 is rolling out with its second beta update. The rollout for these updates is also currently taking place in South Korea first. For instance, the update for the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic’s non-cellular variant measures 243.76MB and carries the firmware version L500XXU2ZZI4. Meanwhile, the update available for the Galaxy Watch 7 is around 229MB in size.
The latest beta for the One UI 9 Watch introduced several fixes, notably addressing issues related to the watch face’s always-on display (AOD) and rectifying time data errors. Additionally, bugs found in applications such as Nowva, Compass, and Weather have also been resolved, contributing to improved stability. Users can check for these updates via the Galaxy Wearable app by going to Watch settings > Watch software update > Download and install.
In terms of stable releases, Samsung has recently begun the official rollout of One UI 9. As is tradition, the rollout commenced with the latest flagship devices, although users may have to wait before the update is made available to all eligible devices.
