During my training for the London marathon, I would upload my routes onto the Garmin Epix Pro, which seamlessly guided me during my long weekend runs with turn-by-turn instructions integrated into the workout app. This experience remains the best I’ve encountered with running smartwatches, and I’ve tested quite a few over the years.

One of the standout features of the Garmin Epix Pro is its LED flashlight, a first for Garmin watches, and the incorporation of SatIQ technology, which delivers exceptionally accurate GPS tracking—something only the top-tier Garmin devices boast even today. Moreover, it features the advanced Elevate V5 heart rate monitor. My comparisons between the V5 and its predecessor, the Elevate V4, showed a noticeable improvement in accuracy when pitted against a standard Polar H10 chest strap heart rate monitor.
