Samsung Phases Out Vascular Load Feature on Galaxy Watch in the US

Samsung has garnered a reputation for its innovative fitness tracking capabilities through its Galaxy Watch range. However, the tech giant is set to discontinue a health monitoring feature that was introduced just last year. The experimental Vascular Load feature, which debuted with the Galaxy Watch 8 during the Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event, will no longer be available to users in the United States by late July. Fortunately, a replacement feature is on the horizon.

Details of the Transition

The removal of the Vascular Load feature aligns with updates to Samsung Health 7.0 and One UI 9 for the Galaxy Watch. Notably, the feature will still remain accessible to users outside of the US. Once Vascular Load is phased out, users will no longer have access to this specific data through the Samsung Health app. However, existing users can download their data before the transition by navigating to Samsung Health Settings and selecting Samsung Health Information.

Users have started receiving notifications regarding this discontinuation through the Samsung Health app, but a broader announcement has yet to be made. This has left many seeking more clarity on the situation. Nonetheless, Samsung isn’t leaving users without alternatives.

A New Feature: Blood Pressure Trend

As the Vascular Load feature is being removed, Samsung is introducing an alternative: the Blood Pressure Trend. Set to be available with the upcoming Galaxy Watch, which is presumed to be the Galaxy Watch 9, this feature focuses on monitoring blood pressure periodically and showing trends over time. In addition to tracking blood pressure, Blood Pressure Trend will provide tips for maintaining healthy habits.

To utilize Blood Pressure Trend, users will need to employ a blood pressure cuff along with their Galaxy Watch. Samsung advises that the cuff should be used at least once every 28 days for accurate readings. It’s important to note that Samsung has clarified that Blood Pressure Trend is intended for wellness purposes only, and is not meant for medical diagnosis or treatment.

Regulatory Concerns: FDA Compliance?

The news of Vascular Load’s removal has sparked discussions online regarding potential regulatory issues. Many users speculate that concerns surrounding FDA compliance may be influencing Samsung’s decision. One commenter pointed out that the FDA’s approval process can often be lengthy, leading to potential delays. While this theory seems plausible, Samsung has not yet confirmed the specific reasons behind discontinuing the Vascular Load feature, leaving some uncertainty.

In conclusion, while the phase-out of the Vascular Load feature may disappoint some users, Samsung is committed to maintaining high standards in health monitoring technology with the introduction of Blood Pressure Trend. For further details and updates, users are encouraged to stay tuned for more information from Samsung and check their Samsung Health app notifications.
