Meta Unveils Innovative Charging Stand for Smart Glasses
Meta has recently launched a chic and practical accessory for its smart glasses users: the Charging Stand. Priced at $59, this stand offers a stylish solution for displaying and charging Meta’s smart glasses at your desk or nightstand, making it an attractive addition to any tech-savvy home.
Design and Features
The Charging Stand resembles a sleek metal tube, designed with a convenient groove that allows users to slot their glasses in while they recharge. This thoughtful design not only keeps your glasses easily accessible but also adds a touch of elegance to your space. Although it does not support the Meta Ray-Ban Display or Oakley Meta Vanguard models, the stand is compatible with several popular models, including the Wayfarer, Skylar, and Headliner Ray-Ban models, alongside Meta’s new, more budget-friendly smart glasses lineup.
Materials and Usability
Constructed from durable stainless steel, the Charging Stand is equipped with a silicone rubber footpad to ensure it stays secure on various surfaces, preventing accidental slips. Standing just under two inches tall and weighing 108 grams—approximately the same as a standard bar of soap—this stand is portable enough to reposition easily but sturdy enough to remain in place during use.
A notable feature of the Charging Stand is the integrated LED light located at the top. This light alerts users to the charging status, glowing orange when the glasses are in the process of charging and turning green once fully charged. Meta claims that the glasses can achieve a full charge in just over an hour, with the ability to reach 50% charge in around 20 minutes—perfect for those moments when you need a quick boost of power.
Charging Accessibility
Unlike the portable charging case, which provides on-the-go power, this new stand requires a constant USB-C connection to function, making it ideal for a dedicated charging space in your home. Users can expect delivery estimates to be as early as June 25th upon placing an order.
