Vivo X300 Ultra Set for Global Launch: A Game-Changer for Phone Photographers

Keen phone photographers can officially cancel their flights to China later this year: Vivo has confirmed that the upcoming X300 Ultra will be available internationally. This marks a significant milestone for the flagship series, which has garnered a reputation among smartphone camera enthusiasts for its impeccable image quality, driven by high-pixel-count sensors and a deep partnership with optical specialist Zeiss.

A Long-Awaited Global Debut

The soon-to-be-retired Vivo X200 Ultra was previously exclusive to the company’s home market, featuring a China-specific version of Android. Although importing the device was an option, it often led to compatibility issues with Western products like Android Auto and Wear OS smartwatches. This limited accessibility made it a tougher competitor when compared to rivals such as the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, which has enjoyed a worldwide launch. The X300 Ultra aims to rectify these shortcomings, potentially giving major players like Google and Samsung a run for their money.

Exciting Accessories Unveiled at MWC 2026

At the recent Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Vivo revealed the design of the X300 Ultra and showcased two major accessories: a second-generation Telephoto Extender kit and a professional-grade Camera Cage.

The 400mm Equivalent Vivo ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 Ultra is a pioneering accessory that promises extreme magnification for mobile photography. The company assures that clean shots at 1600mm can be achieved using digital cropping, facilitated by the X300 Ultra’s native zoom lens boasting an impressive 200MP pixel count. Additionally, features like “gimbal-grade” optical image stabilization and motion-tracking focus are expected to elevate user experience.

The Camera Cage appears tailor-made for videographers. Equipped with multiple cold shoe mounts for attaching accessories like lights and microphone packs, it boasts dual hand grips for a steady grip during filming, as well as built-in buttons for shutter and zoom control. Notably, a ‘multi-level’ cooling fan is incorporated to regulate temperatures while recording 4K video, ensuring seamless performance alongside the Telephoto Extender kit.

Anticipated Specifications and Competitors

While Vivo has kept many details regarding the X300 Ultra under wraps, rumors suggest it will feature twin 200MP rear cameras—one main and one telephoto—alongside a 50MP ultrawide lens. Powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and potentially equipped with up to 7000mAh of battery capacity, the phone is well-positioned to compete against other high-end photography flagships such as the recently unveiled Xiaomi 17 Ultra and the upcoming Oppo Find X9 Ultra.

As Vivo gears up for its global release, the X300 Ultra stands poised to make a significant impact in the smartphone market, particularly among photography enthusiasts. Its blend of innovative features and high-end specifications could very well change how we view mobile photography.
