Exciting Rumors Surround the Future iPhone 19e

It’s been less than a week since Apple announced the highly-anticipated iPhone 17e, yet early whispers about its successor, the iPhone 19e, are making waves. Set to launch in early 2028, the iPhone 19e may come equipped with a ProMotion display, a feature that has previously been reserved for Apple’s premium models, marking a significant breakthrough for the budget “e” lineup.

What is ProMotion Technology?

In Apple terminology, ProMotion refers to a variable refresh rate panel that can dynamically adjust its refresh rate for optimal performance. To date, the “e” series has been limited to a standard 60Hz panel. The introduction of ProMotion could elevate the user experience, allowing for smoother scrolling and improved responsiveness.

New Display Technology on the Horizon

According to a recent report from ZDNet Korea, Apple is actively developing a new LTPO+ technology. This innovative tech utilizes oxide materials for both switching and driving transistors, leading to enhanced power efficiency and quicker response times. If successful, this technology could revolutionize not just the iPhone 19e but the entire range of Apple’s mobile devices.

Implementation Timeline

The new LTPO+ display technology is expected to debut with the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro series and potentially extend to next-generation devices such as the iPhone Air and a foldable iPhone. If Apple successfully rolls out this technology on high-end devices, it stands to reason that LTPO panels will eventually make their way to the iPhone 19e.

Current Uncertainties

While speculation is rife, several details remain unconfirmed. It’s unclear if the iPhone 19e will feature the LTPO panel and which specific type of ProMotion display will be employed. For context, previous generations of ProMotion displays varied significantly—the iPhone 13 Pro series offered a refresh rate between 10Hz to 120Hz, whereas the iPhone 14 Pro dropped the lower threshold to just 1Hz.

For those eagerly awaiting the next installment in the iPhone lineup, it’s a compelling time filled with possibilities. As always, we’ll keep you updated as more information becomes available.
