Sony LinkBuds Clip: Breaking New Ground in Open Earbud Design
Sony has unveiled the LinkBuds Clip, scheduled for release in January 2026 at a price of $229 / £180. These innovative clip-style open earbuds aim to provide a unique listening experience while integrating cutting-edge technology such as 10mm drivers, DSEE upscaling, and AI-powered noise reduction for calls.
A New Design in Earbuds
With the LinkBuds Clip, Sony takes a bold step into the ear-cuff style of earbuds. Historically recognized for their pioneering efforts in open-ear designs with their original LinkBuds, Sony has now introduced a fitting that sits comfortably outside the ear canal while remaining open to ambient sound.
The earbuds come equipped with a flexible attachment known as an “air fitting cushion,” which helps to secure the device snugly in your ear, particularly helpful for those with smaller ears who may struggle with conventional fits.

Notably, a fast-charging feature allows an hour of playtime from just three minutes of charging. Aesthetically, the LinkBuds Clip comes in various colors, including black, white, lilac, and pale green. The unique packaging is also designed to be both playful and functional, with additional sleeve colors available for customization.
