One of the Best Pairs of Budget Headphones You’ll Own
Since everything has already been said about these that can be said, these are some of the nicest headphones you can get for the price. The headphones themselves are a very sleek black design and are a nice matte black finish rather than the piano black that most companies love to use. The build quality is top notch and being able to fold them makes it great for traveling if that’s what you’re looking for.The noise isolation is not too bad either. I only use these in my room but was looking for a pair of heapdhones that had some decent noise isolation. If my regular hearing is 100%, while wearing these and not listening to anything, I’d say it lowers what I can hear to the 50-60% range so roughly half of the normal ambient noise volume. If you’re listening to something even on low volume, you cannot hear anything else outside of the headphones. I also briefly tested noise leak with other people in the room and to my surprise they could hear nothing until the volume was close to 100%. Of course this volume level is different for everyone but that’s 100% with Realtek HD audio drivers on a Windows 7 machine which gets extremely loud. I normally use 20-30% for reference. The ear cups fit very close to actually laying over my ears but they fit, making them closed. As for the sound quality, it’s always hard to describe exactly “how” something sounds. The easiest way to put it is these sound the way you expect audio to sound. If you aren’t an extreme audiophile or know exactly what something should sound like, these headphones will be even better. One thing that may give you an issue is the tightness of these headphones. I came from using JVC HA RX700’s which are an equally great pair of headphones. The main issue with those is the break in time. The ATH M30x’s take nowhere near as long to break in, but it should be noted that it may take you a few days to a few weeks to get adjusted to how they feel. After you stop fidgeting with them and get them to a height that works for you, sometimes you forget you’re even wearing them.Comfort, quality, and sound are all present. If there was any negative I could give to these headphones its the fact that they do sit very close to my ears. If the ear cups were slightly larger it may feel a bit better, but that of course requires a complete redesign of the headphones which were built this way for a reason.Unless you have a very large head or prefer muddier quality sounding headphones such as Beats, you cannot go wrong with these.Pros:+ Amazing sound quality+ Great build quality, matte black finish, intriguing design+ Very comfortable feeling earpads+ Good sound isolation, ~50% of sound dampenedCons:- Would prefer slightly larger ear cups

    Better than Bose. Blown away!
There are three things you need to know about me: I have sensitive hearing, love bass, and I’m a huge Bose fan. These headphones are better than my Bose home speakers!Got these puppies today, plugged them in, and queued up Charles Mingus’ “Haitian Fight Song.” (Which, imo, is the ultimate test of any audio equipment. If you can hear Mingus doing his thang in the background without the trumpet blasting your ears off, you’ve got good stuff!) These headphones performed admirably; I heard stuff (like string noise) that I had never heard before!I will admit, however, that these are flat equalized, and maybe that’s the difference between headphones and monitors? At any rate, MOAR BASS. So I loaded up some Type O Negative. Beautiful, beautiful, sublime and clear sound, but the bass was once again in the background, not front and center like I’m used to. So, if you’re a bass nerd, you might want to EQ these to your liking.Pros: Sounds like they should cost WAY more than they do, no distortion at high (>80%) volume, super lightweight, and comfortable on my kid-sized head.Cons: Might need an equalizer if you’re not happy with the flat EQ. Literally, that’s my only con.

High Quality (better than some $$$ ones), Sturdy, Comfortable
I recently purchased these headphones, which exceeded my expectations regarding sturdiness, comfort, and overall quality. From the moment I unboxed them, I could tell they were built to last. Sometimes, a simple design is the best! I have gone through at least ten other expensive headphones, including Beats, Bose, Sony, etc., but I was never satisfied with Bluetooth or the ones with a cable. The materials used here feel premium. I have accidentally dropped them a couple of times, and they showed no signs of damage. When it comes to comfort, these headphones truly shine. The ear cushions are plush and soft, perfect for long listening sessions without discomfort. I often wear them for hours while working or relaxing, and I never experience any fatigue. The adjustable headband ensures a snug fit without being too tight, which is often a struggle with other headphones. The sound quality is simply fantastic. The clarity and depth of the audio elevate my listening experience. They are effective for noise canceling. It comes with a neat pouch to store it.I removed the original adapter and attached it to an iPhone adapter I purchased from Amazon, and it works perfectly.Overall, I highly recommend these headphones to anyone searching for a sturdy, comfortable, and high-quality (with a budget) option. They represent excellent value for the price.

  4. Why?!

    Great entry headphones
These are great headphones for entry level djing. These headphones have really gotten me into mixing with headphones on non stop. These sound balance is decent and true but they suffer from the same issue as the Pioneer Cue1 and are a bit too quiet, they start to distort at high volume. I was disappointed with the build quality but they have lasted so far. I find myself adjusting the headband at least once per set. The wire is really long and does not detach. If you are getting into djing and are looking for a true sounding headphone I’d recommend these. For those established in djing and have a need for accurate sound but no distortion for lounger volumes I would recommend these only for studio/stream use but not club use.

These are really nice. Really, really nice. I was looking for new headphones, as my rather elderly Koss UR-27’s had finally broken down. (No slight against Koss, they make great headphones too.) But I’m an audiophile on a budget, so i wanted the best headphones I could find, for under $100. These fit the bill for me. Very light, the earpieces are angled slightly to fit over my ears quite comfortably, the cushions are soft but supportive. The closed back keeps out a great deal of outside noise, though I have yet to try them on an airplane. The M30X is tuned to enhance mid-range sound, so voice, as well as woodwinds, sound rich and full, with great clarity. The sound is well balanced in the highs and lows as well. Keep in mind that your phone or MP3 player will not provide much power, so the bass end is going to suck no matter what headphone you use. i use these primarily with my laptop, but also on the stereo receiver, where they really shine. Really well-balanced sound, plenty of bass with no distortion; I’m primarily an indie-rock girl, but I also listen to choral music, a bit of jazz here and there, some Bach, some Beethoven, some Berlioz, etc. I’ve been hearing things in my music I hadn’t really heard before, which is really fun. I can make out David Bowie’s baritone part in TV on the Radio’s song ‘Province’ very clearly now, for instance. I encourage you to go to Audio-Technica’s website, they’ve got a lot of information there about all their products, and you can ask questions on the discussion board; I found looking through other people’s discussions very helpful in making a decision.Pros: light, comfortable to wear, balanced sound with great clarity in the mid-range, they fold up for easy transport, a lot of bang for your buck for sub-$100 headphones, long cord, carrying bagCons: I haven’t really found any yet. I was initially concerned about the exposed wire that runs along the expanding part of the headband, but they seem to have been twisted and set in such a way that they can’t get caught in the expander. I do have small ears, so I imagine that if you have exceptionally large ears, you may find these don’t fit comfortably around themAll in all, I’m really happy with my purchase. I may decide to pick up some Koss UR-40’s at some point, just to have some variety, or maybe one of Audio-Technica’s numerous models of open-back headphones. I’m quite impressed with the quality of these, I think you will be too. Cheers!

I’ve been using the Audio-Technica ATH-M30X for a while now for my amateur DJing, and honestly, I’m pretty impressed. For the price, these headphones deliver great sound and decent comfort, which is super important since I often practice and mix for hours. The sound is clear and clean — the bass is punchy but not over-the-top, just enough to feel the beat, and the mids and highs come through nicely, which helps me hear melodies and vocals while I’m mixing. It’s not the most professional sound out there, especially compared to pricier headphones, but for beginners and hobby DJs like me, it’s more than enough. As for comfort, they’re lightweight and don’t put too much pressure on your head, which can be a problem with cheaper models. The ear pads fit well and do a good job of blocking outside noise, so even in louder environments, I can focus on my mix.The cable is on one side only and is a good length, which is convenient when I’m moving around my DJ gear. The only downside is they don’t have foldable or rotating ear cups like some more expensive models, so they’re not the easiest to carry around. But since I mostly use them at home, it’s not a big deal.Overall, for amateurs or anyone looking for solid headphones without spending a ton, the ATH-M30X is a great choice. They’re not top-of-the-line for pro gigs, but for practice and home use, they definitely get the job done.
