Great stand with obsolete removable PD USB-C hub
The stand is great, well designed and made of lightweight aluminum. The removable PD USB-C hub is a bit obsolete, supporting only USB 3.0 rather than the currently standard 3.2. There is a 100W PD input but the included documentation doesn’t say anything about the power of the output. There is a 4k@60Hz apparently HDMI 2.0 video output rather than the latest 2.1 standard. This hub will work very well with low end or older laptops, but is not future proof. The hub however is easily removable.Good value for money overall.

This laptop stand has all-metal construction and a good amount of heft, weighing in at 1.43 KG (including the hub), which helps with the stability of the stand when positioned higher.The metal sheeting is a little on the thin side compared to some others I’ve used but still feels quite solid. There are a few mildly rough spots along the edges, but overall the finish is pretty smooth, especially compared to some other budget metal stands. The face of the stand has large openings for ventilation with rubber pads in the corners and front lips to avoid scratching your device. The underside of the base has pads in the corners as well. The face of the stand is fairly large at approximately 9.5” x 8.5”, so it should provide a stable platform even for larger devices. I use it with a 15” laptop, and it only extends around a 1/4” past the top of the plate and feels very stable.The stand arms are quite stiff, which is what you want so that it holds in place securely. I never ran into any issues of them slipping or sagging in any position. There does not appear to be a way to tighten the hinges on them, however, so hopefully it maintains that snug hold over time.Like any laptop stand, you have to be sure not to extend it too high and flat to prevent it from tipping backwards, but it does not seem worse than most other stands in this regard and isn’t an issue…you just need to be aware of the limits.The other component of this stand is that it comes with a USB hub that can be attached on the base between the arms. You can position it with the ports facing forwards or backwards, whichever you prefer. Then hub has a matching metal exterior to the stand. It’s a nice addition that blends well into the look of the stand and features 100W PD input (85W out), a HDMI port, 3 USB-A ports, and 1 USB-C port (aside from the PD power and host USB-C ports). For data, all the ports are rated at 5Gbps. Also included is a USB-C to C cable for connecting your laptop to the hub.To be fair, I probably won’t be taking advantage of this hub much myself as I typically use a different dock, but I briefly tried it, and it worked with no issues transferring files between an external drive. It’s a nice addition for those that can benefit from it.Overall, it’s a good-quality, stable stand, and the USB hub is a nice bonus as well….recommended.
