Fantastic watch with amazing screen and great battery life.
My first Garmin watch and I love it. I have been using Samsung smart watches and this is a huge upgrade. I have had the watch about a month. The battery life is over the top. I had a Galaxy Watch 4 Classic and got about 2 days of use between charges. On my first two charges I got about 12 days of battery life per charge. This is with Always On Display off and wrist gesture on. This time of year my exercise is mainly walking/hiking. In the 12 day periods I averaged 17 miles which was about 5.7 hours of GPS time per charge. Battery life is my single most favorite part of this watch. I can’t tell you how nice it is not to worry about charging the watch frequently. After a month it would be very difficult to go back to a watch which has to be charged frequently.Other things I like about the watch include:- For the size, this watch is very light. Significantly lighter than my Galaxy 4 Classic.- Screen is awesome. High res and very bright. No issues in sunlight.- Sapphire crystal.- Plenty of memory. Even with the all the maps preloaded 15.6 gb is available.- Maps are preloaded and include topo. Maps are very usable with high res screen.- The amount of detailed information you can get on the watch relating to exercise is amazing.- The phone app is great and you can get even more detailed information relating to your exercise.- The widgets on the watch are very helpful and detailed. With the GW4 I had to go to phone to get details.- Crazy amount of sport modes (which I will only use a fraction of).- Heart rate monitor is very accurate.- GPS is also very accurate and multi band really helps in hard to cover areas.- Routing and navigation features with maps are fantastic. There is not much I dislike about the watch besides the price. After a month of using it, the price does not bother me as much 🙂 I do wish it had better lossless music file support. I have much of my music in FLAC format.

    Fantastic Watch – Revised Review
Very high quality device. Great battery life. Everything is customizable right down to every little window in my picture. Each little circle can be changed. It is a bigger watch but it is hard to get this much into a smaller device. Plus, for the maps and display, you want it a bit bigger.Only complaint is the price. It is just a bit expensive but watch for sales. It is not so bad on sale. Still a great quality device. I would buy it again.I found a second complaint. When running on a treadmill, it would sometimes stop tracking distance. If I ran 5 miles, it would record 2.6 miles. It just stops sometimes. Not always. Probably 1 of 5 times. For that, it lost a star. REVISED: USER ERROR. THERE IS A TREADMILL OPTION. I FOUND IT LATER. ADDING THE STAR BACK TO THE REVIEW.I had purchased another Garmin watch, Instinct 2 Solar, with the same features but I had difficulty reading the display without reading glasses. That’s a great watch too just not as easy on the eyes. This is much much better. I can at least see it although, still is better with my glasses. The display is gorgeous. The picture makes it appear to have depth. It doesn’t appear quite as 3D as the picture shows but still is a gorgeous display. Everything you see on the face is customizable. Including choosing different colors, displays, etc… just a very cool watch.

    Amazing watch.
This full featured watch is amazing durability. I am in construction and damage just about everything I wear. For me the sapphire display and titanium bezel is a huge win. I try to be very careful but have on a few occasions scraped the front of the watch across concrete, stucco finish or other surfaces that would majorly scratch or destroy any other watch. Absolutely scarry everytime it happens. I also have two large dogs that like to play hard and have clawed and teethed the lens on multiple occasions. The watch still looks new and not a single scratch after having it for about a year. I never worry about getting it dirty or submerged in water. In fact I wash the watch like i would anything else to remove the dirt and grime it gets from work and outdoor play. The features are spot on and work great. I can’t think of anything this watch lacks other than a bullet proof built in microphone. Never have seen a built in microphone that will hold up to the punishment that I put things through. For now I am perfectly happy without.

    Fantastic Watch for Fitness Tracking
I was a longtime Apple Watch wearer who switched to Garmin. I love the fitness tracking data and robust variety of activity options that Garmin will track. The epix 2 is a great watch. The screen is bright and easy to see. The watch face is large and provides a rugged, yet sophisticated appearance. The battery life is amazing (typically at least a week, depending on GPS use). If you are looking for a smart watch that you can text from, or use lots of apps, stick with Apple, it’s better for that. However, if you want a robust fitness tracking watch that looks sweet, this is a great option!

    Awesome watch
I went between this, and Apple watch, and the Fenix for a little while before buying. I’ve had it for about 2 months now, and I can say I genuinely have no regrets. I’m not so outdoorsy that I’m away from a wall socket for more than 6 days at a time. So the battery life is no issue at all. The screen is beautiful, very comfy, and I actually look forward to my morning report on how I slept. Does great for workouts and just general info gathering. I can’t say I’ve used the map portion of the watch at all, but it is a neat option to pull up with friends and say “hey look at this!”If I had any complaints, perhaps I would like to have a few more options for a watch faces. The market is a little hard to navigate for me personally, and the stock options that came on the watch are a little limited. But that’s a really minor thing, and I don’t think it’s even worth removing a star for. If you’re on the fence, I recommend it.

Bought this as an upgrade from Forerunner 255, for the display and metallic casing. It does a great job and has some extra features which are nice. The display is fantastic, with configurable brightness, always on and during activity setup.Battery lasts a bit more than a week, and I use it about 7 hours per week in GPS mode, power mode set to “normal”.It is a bit big, but it fits under my shirts/suits sleeves, so that okay for me.

  8. Dan

I was doubtful of how good this watch was going to be. But some friends convinced me to buy it. I have no regrets at all. I had a Ticwatch pro 3 GPS and this is miles ahead of it. The 14 day battery WITH smartwatch features is worth it alone for the price. In addition, I’ve been using the golf swing detection features, weather map and all the other standard health metrics make it probably the best value smartwatch for money.

Vengo de un Fenix 5s y el cambio al Epix es increíble, pese a que muchas de las funciones están en ambos, este destaca por que la señal del GPS es mas rápida, la pantalla AMOLED está muy por encima de los Fenix
