Pickle, a California-based startup, has announced the launch of its innovative AR glasses, the Pickle 1. These smart glasses aim to seamlessly integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) into everyday life, positioning themselves as more than just wearable technology. Instead, they are marketed as personal digital companions that actively observe, remember, and assist users throughout their daily routines.

However, Pickle takes a different approach with their Pickle 1 smart glasses. In a recent post on X, the company referred to the Pickle 1 as a “soul computer.” This unique designation is due to its capability of remembering everything a user sees and hears.
The primary goal of the Pickle 1 is to create a continuous stream of personal context that users can recall as needed. These smart glasses are powered by Pickle’s proprietary operating system, known as Pickle OS. This software diligently collects context from diverse sources daily and organizes it into a cohesive cluster. Notably, the Pickle 1 is touted to possess infinite memory, allowing it to retrieve relevant past sights or conversations precisely when they become useful.
Prioritizing User Privacy and Security
Privacy and usability are paramount for Pickle, as interactions with the device occur through animated avatars that engage users, thus eliminating the need for manual voice commands or prompts. Additionally, the Pickle 1 incorporates user-friendly security features, including a built-in fingerprint scanner that ensures only the authorized owner can access the device.
In terms of privacy, all data collected by the Pickle 1 is encrypted by default and is only decrypted within a hardware-isolated environment. This careful approach means that personal data is neither stored nor used for training purposes, thereby elevating user trust. The smart glasses also feature a vibrant full-color display and are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. Weighing approximately 68 grams, the device boasts a battery life of up to 12 hours on a single charge.
The Pickle 1 is currently available for pre-order in the United States at a price of $799, with deliveries expected to begin in the second quarter of the year.
