Apple updated its smartwatch portfolio with the unveiling of the Watch Series 11, Watch SE 3, and Watch Ultra 3 during its September 9, 2025, launch event.
All three models now support 5G cellular connectivity, marking the first time Apple has introduced this feature to its wearables. Additionally, the Series 11 and Ultra 3 come equipped with innovative health-focused tools, including hypertension awareness.
Apple Watch Series 11: Thinner, Tougher, and Smarter
The Watch Series 11 takes the spotlight as Apple’s thinnest smartwatch yet, while also enhancing durability. It features Ion-X glass reinforced with a ceramic coating that Apple claims is twice as tough as its predecessor, the Series 10. The watch is available in 42 mm and 46 mm sizes, crafted from either aluminum or titanium casings.
On the health front, the hypertension awareness feature is designed to alert users if the device detects any irregular blood pressure activity. While this feature is pending FDA clearance, it is anticipated to be available in 150 countries once approved.
A new Sleep Score function provides users with a nightly rating out of 100 by analyzing various factors, including sleep duration, consistency, interruptions, and time spent in different sleep stages. Apple continues its commitment to health monitoring with 24/7 heart rate and blood oxygen monitoring, now enhanced by stronger battery life that delivers up to 24 hours of use.
The aluminum versions of Series 11 are available in Jet Black, Silver, Rose Gold, and Space Gray, while the titanium options include Natural Titanium, Gold, and Slate. Pricing starts at $399 for the 42 mm aluminum model and $429 for the 46 mm variant, with cellular models priced $100 higher.
Pre-orders are currently live in key markets such as the US, UK, Canada, Germany, France, India, Japan, Australia, and the UAE, with shipments scheduled to begin on September 19.
Watch SE 3 and Watch Ultra 3: Smarter Features and Bigger Battery
The Watch SE 3 brings significant upgrades, such as an always-on display and the previous year’s Apple S10 chip. It also offers optional 5G connectivity, available in both 40 mm and 44 mm sizes. The updated design includes gesture controls like double-tap and wrist flick, and fast charging has improved vastly compared to the previous SE model—now providing 8 hours of battery life with just a 15-minute charge.
The SE 3 also supports the new Sleep Score feature and offers continuous heart rate and blood oxygen monitoring. It will be available in Starlight and Midnight, starting at $249 in the US, with shipping also beginning from September 19.
Positioned at the high end, the Watch Ultra 3 introduces a brighter LTPO 3.0 OLED display with slimmer bezels, along with 5G support and enhanced satellite connectivity for Emergency SOS features, messaging, and location sharing through Find My.
Like the Series 11, the Ultra 3 includes both the hypertension notification and sleep score features. It sets a new record for Apple Watch endurance with an impressive 42-hour battery life.
The Ultra 3 is offered in Black and Natural Titanium, starting at $799, with pre-orders currently available and shipping on September 19.
