Review

The ASUS Vivobook Go 15.6” FHD Slim Laptop is a game-changer in its category. With its AMD Ryzen 3 7320U Quad Core Processor, this laptop delivers essential performance that makes web browsing, streaming, and productivity tasks feel effortless. The 8GB DDR5 RAM ensures you can run multiple applications smoothly, allowing you to multitask like a pro.

Display-wise, the 15.6” NANOEDGE screen with a vibrant color gamut and 250-nit brightness offers sharp visuals that make viewing enjoyable whether you’re working or unwinding with a movie. The 180° hinge allows for versatile use, making it easy to share your screen with friends or colleagues.

Additionally, ASUS’s focus on sound quality is evident, as the Sound by SonicMaster feature provides multi-dimensional audio that enhances video meetings or movie nights. The inclusion of a privacy shutter on the 720p HD camera is a thoughtful touch, addressing privacy concerns that many users have today.

On the downside, the laptop’s 128GB SSD might limit heavy users who require vast amounts of storage. While its integrated AMD Radeon graphics offer decent performance, avid gamers might find it limiting for graphics-intensive games.

Recommended to me and I’m happy with it.
I had an average Chromebook that I needed to replace that couldn’t be fixed by the IT man and he recommended this exact model. It is a nice change going back to a laptop! It does everything that I need it to do. Has lots of space for pictures and documents. The processing speed is fast and I can have multiple tabs open at a time with no glitches or slow downs. It charges fairly quickly and have never found it to be too hot or overheating, even in the summer. I sometimes use it for work and the battery will last all day with fairly constant use. It was simple to set up. The only thing I could complain about is the power button. You hold it for a few seconds and the screen comes on, but if you hold it for one second too long the screen just flashes on and off. It kept doing this to me at first and I thought it was damaged lol. Once you get the “timing” just right, it is fine though. The price was also very fair and it arrived quickly and in new condition. This is my first Asus laptop, and overall, I’m very satisfied with this brand and model. I even recommended this laptop to someone else with similar needs and they are also satisfied.

A nice laptop if you don’t want to do anything fancy with it.
I bought this computer solely to write with it for work: and for that it’s been excellent. I had no problem getting it out of S mode so that I could install apps such as Chrome. It’s a little annoying that there is that step you have to take but it wasn’t hard to do it. I’ve had no trouble running Slack on it, hooking up to my cloud account, running various word processors and google drive docs at the same time. I’ve had music running on it and even watched a movie once. It’s a nice, basic computer that I’ve had no speed issues with or crashes. I’ve also been pleased with how long the battery has lasted, while using it for regular surfing. My one complaint is that it doesn’t have a disc reader. It’s pretty light as well, which has made it easy to transport and travel with, which was another big thing I was looking for.A disclaimer: I did get it on sale on Prime Day, so I’m quite pleased with it based on what I paid for it, but I did get it for a bit less than its regular price. Still: if you want a nice, regular easy to set up laptop without a lot of extra bells and whistles, I’ve been quite happy with this one.

    Great & low cost laptop
Nice little laptop! Purchased for my daughter to take to college. She used a larger iPad all through high school and wanted to try something different. I don’t think she’d like it so I went with a low-cost, basic laptop, but she loves it! So far so good. If it lasts her a yrs or so it’s worth the money!

  5. Marcelia

An Excellent User Experience without Sacrificing on Core Specifications
The laptop provides quality hardware, monitor resolution, size, and specifications. It’s lightweight enough. I enjoy using this laptop. If your screen goes black try ctrl+alt+delete or you can try to discharge the battery by holding the power button for 20 seconds to power the laptop off. The webcam is beautiful. I appreciate the durability of the product also. Relative to the other options in this tier of price range, this is a decent option who don’t want to compromise on their nice webcam and screen resolution and ability to view programs/stream in addition to work. It’s not purely utilitarian which is indicated by the AMD graphics card which is really a nice feature and aids the computer speed.

    OS is awful
What I wanted to purchase was a budget computer because my needs are simple: I like to read and program. What I have received demands much personal information and an active internet connection to phone home to windows without any options to opt out. I have received two requests from Windows and Asus to advertise to me. I feel like I purchased spyware by accident. I have purchased Windows and Asus products in the past, and they were adequate, but I do not believe I will do so again. You don’t get this hassle with Linux or Apple, nor Android (at least when I had one).EDIT: You cannot make a local account with Windows 11 Home S, your quickest bypass will be making a new account using a temporary email address (I like temp-mail.org) so that you can check codes they send you. From there you can use the windows store to find the ‘disable s mode’ (not called exactly that but literally on the windows store). If you want to go for a Linux OS you’ll need a thumb drive to put the new OS on, you’ll want to follow a guide but the gist is that you’ll boot from the thumb drive and install the OS from there. I went for Linux Mint, I don’t think you’d need a lot of technical skill but some comfort with googling will be required as there are some small hitches you can encounter. For this device particularly the built in driver manager will recommend a new driver for the wireless card – don’t do it, it is mistaken.
