Nothing Expands Its Footprint with First Retail Store in India
Nothing, the innovative hardware company supported by Tiger Global, is launching its inaugural retail store in India—its largest market. Located in Bengaluru, the store aims to cater to a substantial portion of Nothing’s user base in the region.
A One-of-a-Kind Shopping Experience
This newly unveiled, two-story retail space will showcase a variety of Nothing products alongside other projects. Customers can purchase hardware items and merchandise directly from the store, with the added option to customize select products.
Bridging Art and Technology
Carl Pei, co-founder and CEO of Nothing, emphasized the company’s vision in creating an engaging retail environment. “We wanted to create a fun space. It is kind of inspired by all the parts that are related to the brand. For instance, the factory: if you buy a product, there’s like a production line where the product comes out. We also show machines where phones go through testing, like USB port testing or water resistance testing. So we just wanted to bring that world together,” he explained.
Introducing CMF, Nothing’s Budget Brand
The Bengaluru store will feature products from both Nothing and its budget brand, CMF, which was spun off last year and is headquartered in India. CMF has a joint venture with local ODM Optiemus to enhance its market presence.
Pei further clarified that the two brands target distinct audiences and price ranges. “Nothing is more niche with a higher price. CMF is more targeted towards mass. You know it’s mass, but it’s not like just off-the-shelf rebrand products. They are also products that we put a lot of care into,” he added.
Growing Market Presence in India
India has proven to be Nothing’s strongest market, holding over 2% of the smartphone market share, according to analyst firm IDC. Additionally, the company was noted as the fastest-growing brand in India in Q2 2025, boasting an impressive 85% growth in shipments year-over-year.
Retail Expansion Amidst Competition
The launch of Nothing’s retail store in India comes amid other hardware manufacturers also setting up aspirational stores in the country. For instance, Apple is set to open its sixth store in Borivali, Mumbai, this month.
Future Expansion Plans
This new outlet marks Nothing’s first retail store outside of London, the company’s headquarters. Looking ahead, Nothing has plans to open two additional stores in Tokyo and New York, although specific timelines for these openings have yet to be disclosed.
Financial Backing and Growth
Last year, Nothing raised $200 million in Series C funding, achieving a valuation of $1.3 billion. The funding round was led by Tiger Global and included other notable investors such as GV, Highland Europe, EQT, Latitude, I2BF, and Tapestry. To date, the company has successfully raised a total of $450 million.
