   Update, July-25-2023 (started using February 2022):Still going strong! I love these headphones. Amazing battery life has maintained. All materials have held up, even the soft fake leather on the ears. I could have never imagined the value I’ve gotten out of these. I sweat A LOT. I listen over an hour each session 4-5 times a week at the gym. I charge them like once a month, its insane, but they’ve never actually depleted power on me. I’m not a paid sponsor. I just got lucky and took a chance on these guys. If these headphones ever actually die or fall apart I’m going to repurchase.Original Review, circa July 2022:I’ve had these headphones for just over 5 months now, about 22 weeks. My gym has an app with check-in history. In that time span, I’ve gone to the gym 74 times. Each visit is between 1 and 2 hours. So it’s a pretty big sample size.First of all, the battery life is extremely impressive. Key Note, make sure you turn OFF the ANC. Even when the headphones are off, if the ANC is in the On position, it will drastically drain the battery life. Learned that the hard way and won’t forget again. For me personally, I don’t use the ANC. I feel the music sound quality is slightly bassier and fuller without it on. At least in the gym. However, when I went on an airplane earlier this year, I used the ANC during the flight, and it canceled out the engine hum. Very cool.The headphones connect without an app, which I like. They simply pair to your phone’s bluetooth. It hasn’t failed to connect automatically since I first paired it. It also has never dropped my connection. I can leave my phone at my setup and walk 30-50 feet away to get water, with no issues. My iphone gives me a battery level icon on the top bar whenever I turn them on and connect. I don’t think the meter has ever dropped below 50% at least that I’ve noticed. I only charge them once a week at work, just to be safe and make sure I never run out at the gym. Honestly though, I don’t even need to that often. At the current rate, the battery would easily last 2 weeks, even with daily gym use (1-2 hours per day). I find that very impressive, and very convenient to not have to charge them regularly. That does not include any other use, these are strictly my gym headphones.COMFORT, they are light and comfy to wear. The ears are soft. They do not aggravate my ears or the top of my head, even on my longer gym sessions. They adjust and swivel to fit whatever you need. They are not tight, they do not squeeze your head. They cover my entire ears nicely. They stay put when i lay back to bench. I’ve also jogged with them. They may move slightly but they won’t fall off unless you’re doing very aggressive movements.They are indeed WATERPROOF. 74 sessions and counting. I sweat a lot. I always wear a hat too, but my hair and ears are right up against it.My wife has Beats and I was on the fence about getting them. I always preferred the in-ear buds for the gym for a low profile and to keep them secure. I had a pair of wrap around the neck in-ear wireless I really liked. But I kept losing them out of my pocket, they would fall out when i got in the car, etc. And the battery life was pretty lousy. 2-4 sessions max. They would often die during the workout. So i decided I would try the big bulky over ear headphones. I admit these do look a little big. But I’ve gotten used to them and i dont mind the appearance. I don’t even know if beats are technically waterproof or resistant, or any at all? Do they warranty gym use? Anyway, i just happened to keep seeing these Z2’s, they were sponsored and kept popping up during my search for headphones. I just couldnt pull the trigger on beats for some reason. I didnt trust they would be truly waterproof, and risk the cost of $150-200 or more. So i kept looking at these, reading reviews.I think they priced them right, because the regular gym go-er like me, is looking for more than the knock-off $20-40 headphone, that we all know is going to fail sooner than later. And have plenty of issues in the meantime. Yet, with our almost daily abuse to them, not willing to spend hundreds of dollars to have them potentially fail. They seem to be on sale in the $70-90 range. I figured they are pretty well made at that price point. And just without the name recognition they know they can’t get away with charging $150-200 dollars. I was more willing to take a chance on $80 that $200. I’m so glad I did.Sound quality is par for the course. 7/10. I dont care, these are gym headphones. Better than expected. They get plenty loud if need them too. The ANC works pretty well, but beware the battery drain from that.The on-ear controls are nice. 3 button controls on the right ear are easy to learn:middle button- hold to turn on/off. click to pause/resume song.top button- hold to skip song. click to increase volume.bottom button- hold to go back to previous song. click to lower volume.ANC is an On/Off toggle switch on the left ear.Don’t think I’m forgetting anything else for features or performance. The matte all-black finish makes them look all business, not flashy, not fashion-driven. Also makes them easy to wipe down. I do not see any flaws in the design. I think they are designed to perform first, look good second. Exactly what i wanted for gym headphones. And they came with a nice case. They fit right into the side pocket on my duffle bag.Bottom line, if you don’t mind bigger looking over-ear headphones at the gym: GET THEM. The comfort, light-weight, amazing battery life, and actually waterproof far exceed the drawback of having “bigger” headphones.If you’re looking for studio-quality sound, look elsewhere. They can’t compete with audiophile headphones, or probably even beats for that matter. These are made for the everyday gym goer.

   Best headphone purchase ever!
   I’ve had these for three years now, and they are still going strong. They are comfortable on my head and I can get them pretty snug when I need them to be. The padding goes around my ears entirely so there is no pressure or pain from extended wear. They have been stuffed in my work backpack when I’m traveling and crunched under seats on flights. They have survived my tossing them in the seat of the car and being left in the heat of the day. The battery life has not degraded in any noticeable way (though I am pretty good about always putting them on the charger when I get home and remember to bring them in). The noise cancelling is excellent, but it will drain the charge faster than when that feature is not turned on. I typically use this only on longer flights which makes the flight a little more enjoyable. For the gym I will put these on and just focus on my workout. The sound quality is fantastic with the highs, mids, and lows, coming through equally giving a fuller richer sound. The bass is really impressive for these if you have a lot of rock, hip-hop, or certain categories of edm on your playlists. When these finally die I will replace them with another Trelab.

   Solid bluetooth noise-cancelling headphones
   I don’t profess myself as a true audiophile, but I am ever in the pursuit of good sound quality at a reasonable budget. That said, here are my thoughts after comparing these to the Audio-Technica ATH M40x and Sony MDR-XB950BT/B.TL;DR:Budget bluetooth headphones with impressive sound. Could be more comfortable, and ANC kills some of the punch of bass, while making it (and everything else) clearer.Build quality:Solid. All the materials feel sturdy and robust. While these haven’t proven themselves through the test of time, everything feels good and tightly built. I have no compunction about just shoving these in my bag. The metallic covers are a nice touch that add to the feel of these headphones feeling like they’re well-built, but I do not know that they were necessary. My one criticism is the foam material underneath the pleather. The foam material is sufficiently soft and springy, but seems cheap. I have my doubts whether they will remain that way over the long term.Design/comfort:I generally like the styling of these headphones. They have a classic profile and are unassuming, which makes them not stick out. I do not like the rather large Treblab logo on the covers, however. The white lines of the logo are very obvious, but thankfully, they are not so gaudy as to draw attention. Still, they stand out enough to make me feel like I’m wearing something designed for very young adults. I would have preferred if the logos were a little more subdued.As for comfort, these headphones are sufficiently comfortable, even after hours of use, but I feel they could be more comfortable. As mentioned above, the foam material used in the padding is merely adequate. The Sony MDR-XB950BT/B has extremely plush pads that feel like clouds on your ears, but do tend to get warm over time. The ATH M40x have more foam, but are rather firm, so they can get a little painful after prolonged use. The TrebLab Z2 feel comfortable, but because they have less padding, so my ears are always touching the inside of the pads. With the Z2, I am constantly shifting the position of the earpieces to obtain optimal comfort. I feel if they had a bit more padding, it would be more comfortable and give more space for my ears. The headband of the Z2 is also quite narrow, so you feel them on top of your head more than the other headphones I’ve tried. That said, the Z2 is light enough that you barely notice you’re wearing them. I have the Z2 on my ears for hours at a time, and other than needing to readjust them every now and again, they are comfortable.Sound quality:The most important aspect, in my opinion, of any headphones is the sound quality. I am happy to report that the sound quality of the Z2 is pretty darn good, at least to my ears. With the active noise cancellation (ANC) off, the mix on the Z2 is incredibly flat. Lows, mids, and highs come out fairly clearly and without distortion, but altogether sound rather muddy. You can make out different instruments and vocals, but nothing particularly stands out. When the ANC is off, the mix sounds clear, but unimpressive.When the ANC is turned on, everything sounds so much clearer and cleaner. It becomes easier to pick out different sounds that are going on. There is a world of difference in sound when the ANC is turned on. However, the ANC introduces a subtle hiss and a weird pressure in your ears. You quickly get used to this and will likely forget about it once you get lost in your music. That said, while the ANC makes the lows, mids, and highs come out much clearer, bass loses its punch. For instance, when you listen to a song that has a low, droning cello or similar sound, you lose much of the rumble and impact of that instrument/sound. In fact, in one song that had a cello in the background, I almost lost it amid the other, higher-pitched instruments. The cello was much more obvious when I turned off the ANC. With the ANC on, the Z2 seems to favor treble. So, voices and higher instruments are particularly pronounced–almost to the point of being harsh and sibilant. However, while the punch and impact of the bass is muted when the ANC is on, the ANC also makes percussion clearer. So you will hear it, but you won’t “feel” it as much with the ANC off.While the Z2 with the ANC on is very clear and clean, things do start to get a little distorted when there are a lot of different sounds happening at once. I do not know whether this is a limitation of the aptX codec or a weird phenomenon related to ANC in general. However, these incidents are far and few between.That said, I am impressed by the sound quality of the Z2. All things considered, the Z2 (with ANC on) has a clean and clear sound that comes very close to the clarity of the ATH M40x. The Sony MDR-XB950BT/B is known for being bass-forward, and has a much muddier mix than the Z2. I believe the Z2 has a significant advantage over the Sony MDR-XB950BT/B because the Z2 uses the aptX codec. All in all, I like the sound quality of the Z2, and I suspect for most people, my criticisms above are meaningless.For the most part, I cannot stress how clear and clean the sound is for a pair of headphones that are bluetooth and cost less than $100.Other considerations:I listen to a wide range of music, from orchestral, folk rock, indie rock, rock, pop, rap, electronic, etc. I spent hours listening to various songs over and over with the ANC on/off on the Z2 and compared the same songs between the ATH M40x and Sony MDR-XB950BT/B. For pure audio enjoyment, I would still lean toward my M40x. My Sony MDR-XB950BT/B are my least favorite (but most comfortable) of the three headphones I own. The Z2 stands as my go to headphones for the time being for their good (but not perfect) sound quality and ease of use (no wires!).

   Fantastic Customer Service
   I had written a bad review due to frustration with issues I faced with this model headphones. However, support PROACTIVELY contacted me and sent me a replacement with the U5 model! That was great customer service!The sound quality is great and they are a very comfortable fit. I will have to see how they hold up in the gym dealing with sweat, but gotta say they went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied.

   Ho preso le cuffie per mio marito lui è rimasto contentissimo perché gli usa al lavoro dove c’è tanto rumore e così con loro rimane isolato con una buona qualità di suono. La batteria dura tre giorni interi senza spegnere. Sono leggeri e comodi da usare . Consiglio a tutti perché mio marito è rimasto soddisfattissimo. Gli usa mentre lavora e anche durante la corsa . Grazie.

   The build quality is good, and the earcups are definitely sweatprooof. But the main issue for me was the bluetooth which kept cutting up when i moved away of walking distance and started stuttering. ( I literally have to keep my phone in my pocket to not have issues ) which i did not face with other earphones. The volume is relatively low compared to other headsets as well. ANC is there but it’s not really there.

   Je suis très contente de ce casque, s’est géniale à tout les niveaux, le technique et le design, pour un prix tres raisonnable.La qualité de son est extraordinaire. La technologie anti-bruit est vraiment efficace, ce qui permet de profiter pleinement du son même dans un environnement bruyant comme le transport. Les basses puissantes. Aussi, la batterie tiens très ! Long temps ce qui est extrêmement pratique.La casque est stylé, et comfortable et légère, tiens bien sans serrer.La livraison très rapide, commande passée vendredi aprèm, lundi le colis, soigneusement emballé, déjà chez moi.En résumé, très bon acquisition, grand plaisir d’investir dans un bon casque. Je vous le conseille sincèrement.
